Flatweave Runners (often wool or faux-sisal) are incredibly durable and sit tight to the stairs—perfect for a smart, tailored look. Stripes are very popular for adding drama. Natural Sisal Runners add texture and grip. We can also make a runner from almost any broadloom carpet, giving you endless colour options.

Not all stairs are standard width. We create bespoke runners to fit your specific staircase perfectly, ensuring the border gap (revealing the wood paint/varnish) is consistent and balanced. We handle the difficult winders (curved steps) with expert mitring or shaping.

The edge of your runner needs finishing. Whipping wraps the edge in a matching yarn for a neat, subtle finish. Taping (Binding) uses a fabric tape (cotton or linen) in a contrasting or matching colour for a premium, defined border look.

While modern runners are secured by grippers, stair rods add a beautiful decorative touch. We supply rods in brass, antique bronze, chrome, black, and pewter to match your home's hardware.

You can run the runner just up the stairs and have a fully fitted landing, or continue the runner along the landing too. We can advise on the best layout for your specific hallway shape.
