Jute is the "silk" of natural floorings. Made from the stalk of the giant Corchorus plants, it is fine, soft, and has a slight sheen. It is much softer underfoot than Sisal or Seagrass, making it a fantastic choice for relaxing "low traffic" rooms where you want the natural look without the roughness.

Jute is completely biodegradable and recyclable. Its production is rain-fed with little need for fertiliser, making it an eco-friendly choice. The yarn is soft and pliable, creating a cosy, tweed-like texture on the floor.

Bedrooms: Perfect for bedrooms where you walk barefoot. Snugs: Great for quiet reading rooms. NOT for heavy traffic: Jute wears quicker than Sisal and absorbs stains easily, so keep it away from muddy boots and dining tables!

We supply Jute in various weaves including herringbone and boucle. Our supply and fit service ensures it is installed in appropriate areas—we will honestly advise you if we think a room is too busy for Jute!
